Google Cloud Engineer (Permanent)

Overview: We are looking for a certified and experienced Google Cloud Engineer to join our growing cloud engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and strong expertise in Kubernetes orchestration, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps practices. You'll play a key role in designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud-native systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (preferably GKE). Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager. Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to integrate best practices into CI/CD pipelines, observability (logging/monitoring), and automation. Monitor system performance, ensure high availability, and implement disaster recovery solutions. Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and security. Maintain and improve security compliance and apply best practices across all cloud environments. Document cloud architecture, operational procedures, and environment configurations. Required Qualifications: Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, ideally in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform services (e.g., Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, BigQuery). Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Cloud Build, or equivalent. Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go. Working knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar). Solid understanding of cloud security and compliance best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred): Google Cloud Certification (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer or higher). Kubernetes Certification (CKA or CKAD).
