About The Role As a Senior Frontend Engineer (UX & Design System) at ResearchGate, you will take ownership of our internal design system built on React. Collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and engineers, you will ensure the design system empowers the entire Product & Engineering organization to build consistent, accessible, and delightful user experiences. You will define and execute the long-term technical strategy of the design system and help maintain its high quality and performance. Responsibilities Develop and maintain the React and TypeScript-based design system. Collaborate with Design to define and implement the vision and strategy for the design system. Respond promptly to design system issues that impact product development. Enhance product interaction, accessibility, and performance. Test and document the design system using Storybook. Lead technical decisions around libraries and tools, informed by the latest technology trends. Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement. Improve infrastructure related to building, releasing, and maintaining the design system. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of expert experience in React frontend development. At least 2 years of professional experience with TypeScript. Proven track record of building and maintaining reusable components within a design system for 2+ years. Solid understanding of accessibility best practices. Experience with tools for orchestration, testing, building, releasing, and publishing (e.g., Turbo, GitHub Actions, Storybook, Docker, Vite, Yarn, NPM, Node, Jest, ESLint, Jenkins). Strong attention to detail focused on delivering excellent user experiences. Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English. Your Profile Skilled at navigating complex technical environments and selecting appropriate tools. Keen eye for design with the ability to translate design into high-quality code. Enthusiastic collaborator who works well with designers, product managers, and engineers. Long-term thinker focused on building a stable engineering foundation. Persistent and strategic in executing long-term technical initiatives. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high-performing teams.
