Join Ensono as a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer specializing in DB2 systems. This is an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional software support and services to our mainframe clients.
Position Overview:
You will be required to work on-site in our Raleigh, NC office, five days a week, and report directly to the Manager of Mainframe Database. Key Responsibilities: Address customer service requests regarding mainframe z/OS for DB2 and related OEM software products efficiently and effectively. Diagnose and deliver solutions for DB2 SQL performance issues to ensure operational excellence. Prepare for changes in database size due to business growth and project implementation. Maintain databases to meet service levels and maximize efficiency while minimizing outages. Implement database archival processes and recovery procedures in case of outages or data corruption. Provide physical database management support, including data backups and restorations. Monitor, plan, and correct potential out-of-capacity situations proactively. Offer technical guidance to application development and production support teams, enhancing performance testing and tuning. Document and maintain DB2 physical database standards and procedures. Lead primary upgrade support for DB2 and associated products, adhering to best practice installation procedures and efficient resource management. Follow ITSM change control procedures diligently. Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience. Over 10 years of experience in DB2 for administration and systems programming support, with a preference for knowledge of tools from CA, BMC, and IBM. Extensive experience in installation, customization, and performance tuning of DB2 subsystems. Proficient in troubleshooting both DB2 system database issues and software-related problems. Strong understanding of WLM environments and DB2 utilities. Demonstrated ability to work with DB2 databases in a parallel sysplex environment. Why Choose Ensono?
