Summary:

Join the Edge Network Services (ENS) organization, a dynamic team that designs, deploys, and supports a massive network serving over 2 billion active users across the Facebook platform, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The ENS Operations Team is dedicated to maintaining a highly available, efficient, and operationally excellent network. Our focus ranges from daily management of technicians to implementing reliability initiatives that enhance business risk management and operational efficiency. You will help manage our global operations across data centers, backbone systems, subsea networks, edge locations, and CDN infrastructure. Responsibilities: Incident Response:

Investigate complex technical and process issues affecting network reliability and security globally. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party partners during major incidents. Escalation Management:

Participate in Tier 3 and 4 on-call rotations to effectively route issues, suggest process improvements, and identify automation opportunities for future incidents. Operational Leadership:

Drive operational improvements and manage activities of a large contingent workforce focusing on compliance and standards across the network. Risk Management:

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operations align with reliability, security, and regulatory policies. Information Assurance:

Ensure operational documentation is managed effectively, maintaining complete and accurate data for sustained performance. Automation:

Identify opportunities to automate processes and drive initiatives towards achieving a Zero Touch Operations goal. Data Measurement:

Analyze metrics related to escalations, infrastructure capacity, and performance trends to focus on high-impact areas. Collaboration:

Work closely with internal engineering teams, logistics, program management, and vendor partners to proactively address operational needs. Roadmap Ownership:

Own the execution of organizational-level strategies aimed at delivering desired business outcomes. Technical Leadership:

Provide solutions to operational challenges across edge architectures and hardware platforms, working closely with multiple infrastructure teams. Business Ownership:

Manage interactions with third-party vendors including hardware providers and telecom partners. Project Leadership:

Lead cross-functional projects covering diverse areas including data centers and compliance, ensuring seamless operations across the global landscape. Communication:

Effectively communicate across various teams and stakeholders to drive infrastructure operations development and management outcomes. Travel:

Up to 15% of international and domestic travel may be required. Minimum Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of CDN, Network Services, and peering strategies, along with proficiency in Linux operating systems. Basic coding and automation experience in languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript. Proven ability to collaborate with global teams and manage cross-functional partnerships. At least 5 years of experience in network and infrastructure architecture design. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in various infrastructure environments, including colocation facilities and data centers. Familiarity with project oversight and digital transformation initiatives. Experience in supplier management and contract negotiations. Compensation:
