Summary Software Developer - JavaScript Location: St. Louis, MO Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) provides integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace. The Software Developer - JavaScript/TypeScript will develop critical applications, building modern, scalable, and secure web applications within a Scrum-based Agile environment, leveraging technologies such as React, TypeScript, Python, and the ESRI ArcGIS JavaScript API. The role involves collaboration with team members to deliver high-impact tools, including development, testing, and documentation of geospatial web applications, user interface components, and integrated solutions. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain geospatial web applications using the ESRI ArcGIS platform, focusing on responsive UI/UX, performance, and security. Rapidly prototype web applications in modern JavaScript frameworks to showcase new concepts and ideas. Utilize the ESRI REST API for integrating web applications with back-end web services. Create a developer-friendly toolkit to consume new server-side GIS functionalities, using the latest techniques and best practices. Apply good software design and development practices daily. Write technical design specifications and documentation. Suggest new technologies and approaches, demonstrating and championing their use. Contribute to design reviews, sprint planning, and peer code reviews. Estimate effort and duration of development tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years relevant experience, OR Associate's Degree with 4+ years relevant experience, OR 6+ years of relevant experience. Experience designing, building, and delivering web applications. Experience with modern JavaScript libraries (React, Vue, Angular), with a preference for React and TypeScript. Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, handling JSON data, and asynchronous operations. Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub). Extensive experience with HTML, DOM manipulation, CSS, and cross-browser development. Experience with the ESRI JavaScript API, WMS, or other geospatial tools. Active TS/SCI clearance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders. Friendly demeanor, helpful attitude, and good interpersonal skills. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to provide technical support and training, with good phone skills and professionalism. Strong problem-solving skills and abstract thinking.
