Storage & Backup Engineer (Ref 101)

Responsibilities: Configuring and administering Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) storage and associated components, Storage Area Network (SAN) including fibre channel switch administration, data restore and disaster recovery and data backup for clients and servers. Maintaining storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocations and change management including capacity planning for tape libraries and backup servers Perform routine equipment check, preventative maintenance, storage and backup analysis, capacity planning and performance planning of storage components Perform setup procedures to consolidate storage of data from different platforms (i.e. Windows, UNIX and LINUX) Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) for all the critical systems and ensure successful rebuild of Production or DR servers after each DR should the need arise Troubleshoot to resolve any storage issues and perform routine equipment check and preventative maintenance Backup job configuration and scheduling and perform storage and backup analysis, capacity planning and performance planning of storage components Requirement Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information systems, or related field. At least 5 years of relevant work experience in RAID storage and SAN.
