Lead Systems Administrator (Linux/Windows)

GovCIO is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Systems Administrator with expertise in both Linux and Windows environments. In this pivotal role, you will provide continuing support for core system applications and perform essential operational tasks. This includes monitoring system resources and conducting routine maintenance to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of 24x7 lifecycle applications. You will also participate in on-call support, contributing to our commitment to outstanding service.
Work location is in Washington, DC, and this position offers a hybrid remote option with periodic onsite work activities.
Requirements
include the ability to work nights, an active Security+ certification, and an active Top Secret clearance. Key Responsibilities: Support the Background Investigation System in both Production and Test environments. Validate and assist with the developer's deployments in various environments. Collaborate with other administrators to address ServiceNow tickets. Monitor applications and systems closely to ensure successful processing of files. Assist in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures. Work with external teams to remediate issues effectively. Maintain and administer computer networks, hardware, software, and configurations. Plan and implement network/system security measures to ensure data integrity. Analyze system performance for short and long-range planning. Prepare documentation, including operational instructions. Write and modify scripts for performance issues and automation of administrative tasks. Recommend improvements for systems and network configurations. Be available to work onsite as needed at DCSA sites located in Quantico, VA; Ft Meade, MD; Boyers, PA. Daily Activities: Monitor multiple systems for successful file processing. Manage ticketing requests through ServiceNow. Communicate information and status updates during shift transitions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of system administration experience (or equivalent experience). Active Security+ certification is mandatory. Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal oversight. At least three years each of experience in: application-level production issue resolution, Windows Server/Desktop support, Linux OS support, and Oracle SQL in production. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products. A minimum of one year of experience with ServiceNow ticketing systems. Work Hours: Flexibility is required to handle shift work, including third-shift responsibilities. Clearance Required:

The anticipated pay range for this position is USD $95,000.00 - USD $105,000.00 per year. Actual salary may vary based on individual factors, including skills, experience, and internal equity.
