Overview GovCIO is seeking a Lead Systems Administrator with expertise in both Linux and Windows environments to provide comprehensive support for core system applications. In this critical role, you will monitor system resources, perform routine maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of 24x7 lifecycle applications while being available for on-call support. This position will be based in Washington, DC, and will involve hybrid remote work with occasional onsite responsibilities. Candidates must be willing to work nights and hold an active Security+ certification as well as an active Top Secret clearance. Responsibilities Support the Background Investigation System in Production and Test environments and validate developer deployments. Collaborate with other administrators to manage ServiceNow tickets and troubleshoot issues across various applications. Maintain and administer computer networks, including hardware, system software, and application software configurations. Implement network/system security measures to safeguard data, software, and hardware. Conduct monitoring and analysis to facilitate effective long-term planning for in-house systems. Ensure appropriate documentation exists, including operational procedures. Write or modify scripts to enhance performance and automate administrative tasks. Recommend improvements for system configurations and assess hardware or software needs for applicable changes. Be readily available to work onsite as needed at various DCSA locations, including Quantico, VA; Ft Meade, MD; and Boyers, PA. Daily Activities: Monitor multiple systems to ensure file processing is successful. Track requests in the ServiceNow ticketing system and prioritize accordingly. Communicate status updates and information regarding ongoing work across shifts. Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of system administration experience (or equivalent experience). Required Skills and Experience Active Security+ certification is mandatory. Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Self-sufficient in completing tasks with minimal oversight. At least three years of experience in resolving application-level production issues. Three years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server/Desktop environments. Three years of experience in a Linux OS production environment. Three years of professional experience with Oracle SQL in a production setting. Three years of experience with Microsoft Office products, demonstrating intermediate-level expertise. A minimum of one year of experience with the ServiceNow ticketing system. Work hours:

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including third-shift responsibilities. Clearance Required:

US Citizenship is required for obtaining an active Top Secret clearance. Preferred Skills and Experience Possession of Microsoft certifications. Posted Salary Range The salary range reflects the expectations for this position upon commencement of employment; however, actual compensation may vary based on factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. Additional compensation elements may be included in the total compensation package, discussed during the hiring process. Expected Salary Range: USD $95,000.00 - USD $105,000.00 per year.
