Join Amazon's Specialized Business Services Security team as a Software Engineer in our Core Engineering division. We are looking for a creative and motivated Software Engineer to enhance and maintain solutions that streamline our vulnerability management initiatives. You will collaborate with a diverse group of security professionals across Amazon to strengthen our automation capabilities.
Your role will involve developing solutions that prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities, thereby elevating our security posture and ensuring that we deliver secure products to our customers. Here’s what you can expect in this role:
Work closely with software and security teams to develop automated vulnerability management workflows.
Design scalable architectures to handle low-latency, big data processing efficiently.
Optimize and enhance the performance of our existing systems.

On a typical day, you will take ownership and contribute to the development of tools that automate our vulnerability management programs. As part of an expanding team, you’ll leverage your skills using various methodologies to create and maintain security solutions. Collaborating with product teams and senior leadership, you will drive improvements that help us fulfill our vision of being Earth's Most Customer-Centric company.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of professional software development experience (excluding internships).
2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems.
Proficient in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of software engineering best practices encompassing coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, and operational excellence.

The compensation for this role ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $223,600/year in our highest. Pay will be determined by several factors including market location and job-related experience. In addition to base salary, comprehensive benefits include equity options, sign-on bonuses, and a wide range of health and financial benefits.
