Pharmacy Technician - Medication Support Specialist

to assist with various functions within our mental health and specialty pharmacy, primarily focusing on dispensing medical prescriptions and performing essential clerical duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Work Schedule:

501 Youssef Dr. Chillicothe, MO 64601 Key Responsibilities: Engage with consumers at the mental health center to inform them about the medication services offered by Genoa. Facilitate consumer recruitment and enrollment through completion of necessary forms and insurance information collection. Assist with prescription collection and faxing to the pharmacy for dispensing. Maintain up-to-date consumer insurance information in the pharmacy system and ensure proper billing for dispensed medications. Support consumers in communicating with pharmacists regarding medication queries, ensuring prompt responses. Help clinic staff and pharmacy manage prior authorizations and Patient Assistance programs as required. Monitor consumer compliance by checking in at least monthly to confirm medication adherence and refill needs. Manage prescription refills using the no refill report, contacting prescribers as needed to facilitate timely refills. Perform medication deliveries when necessary and permissible by state regulations. Verify expiration dates on consumer medications and house account products. Ensure proper medication storage practices are followed (e.g., refrigeration requirements). Identify and address discrepancies in medications (e.g., dose changes, discontinued medications). Adhere to state regulations regarding all responsibilities of this position. Required Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Missouri. National Pharmacy Technician Certification. Access to reliable transportation and a valid US driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Over 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. The salary range for this position is $19.86 to $38.85 per hour, commensurate with full-time employment. Factors affecting pay include local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
