Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) team as a Data Center Operations Technician! The Infrastructure Operations team is expanding, and we are looking for qualified Data Center Technicians who hold valid security clearances. As a crucial member of our team, you will troubleshoot and resolve various data center infrastructure issues, including hardware problems, fiber optics, networking, and more. Key Responsibilities: Engage in physical activities related to data center operations, including capacity planning, rack deployment, and hardware/software troubleshooting. Handle lifting and moving materials up to 49 pounds. Work in confined and elevated spaces as needed. Stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8+ hours a day, and safely ascend/descend ladders and stairways. Availability for shifts beyond 8 hours to maintain 24/7 operational support, covering nights, weekends, and holidays. A Day in the Life: Take ownership of technical issues and collaborate with various teams for resolution. Demonstrate a strong aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting. Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection. Drive process innovations to improve operational effectiveness. About Our Team: AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design and operation of all AWS data centers globally. You will collaborate within a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, and operations managers dedicated to safety and efficiency in delivering cloud services. Basic Qualifications: Associate's degree in IT or equivalent professional/military experience. 2+ years of experience with server hardware and 1+ year with UNIX/Linux operating systems. Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT or related field. Hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Dell or HP. Networking experience and relevant certifications (CCNA/Network+) are valued. Previous data center experience including rack management and cable management is a plus.
