Storage and Backup Engineer (Veeam)

Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain Hitachi storage systems, SAN switch Infrastructure, Veeam and Huawei backup environments Manage and monitor Veritas NetBackup and Veeam Backup & Replication platforms Monitor backup jobs, perform root cause analysis for failed jobs, and generate capacity reports Perform restoration and recovery of critical data as per business or audit requirements Perform hardware refresh activities, capacity planning, and storage tuning Manage storage allocation, capacity planning for backup storage and software components Manage regular upgrades, patching and provisioning, including setup using tools (Hitachi OpsCenter, Storage navigator, etc.) Manage SAN fabrics including zoning and troubleshooting via Brocade switches Perform hardware upgrades, microcode upgrades, and patching in coordination with vendor support services Ensure data protection, disaster recovery preparedness, and storage and backup are planned and effective Handle incidents, service requests, and changes associated with storage and backup Maintain operational and security standards, compliance, and guidelines Participate in internal and external audits and compliance reviews Support and actively participate in storage and backup project-related projects Create and maintain relevant documentation (SOP's, backup & storage runbooks, architecture diagrams) Technical Requirements 3 to 5 years of experience in Enterprise Backup and Storage Administration Strong expertise in Hitachi storage systems (VSP 5000 Series), SAN switch management, and Huawei backup solutions Proficient in Veritas NetBackup and Veeam Backup & Replication Knowledge in scripting languages such as Shell, PowerShell & Python have an added advantage Solid understanding of ITIL processes and data protection best practices GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Experience with compliance frameworks and audit processes Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills Strong communication and documentation abilities Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Solarwinds) Preferred Qualifications Relevant certifications (e.g., Hitachi Certified Specialist, Veritas Certified Specialist, Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Huawei Certified ICT Expert) Familiarity with Cloud Storage and Backup Solutions Soft Skills Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills Self-motivated and possess strong analytical skills, sharp, and meticulous Strong interpersonal skills and good time management skills ITIL certification is an added advantage #J-18808-Ljbffr
