As a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist - Federal, you will work with some of the largest organizations on the planet to help them build the next generation of AI-powered enterprise applications. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and subject matter experts to define new analytics capabilities, providing federal customers with critical information to make decisions and enable digital transformation. Qualified candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of common machine learning techniques and their application, understanding their limitations and how to tweak or derive from them to achieve results at large-scale. This role requires US Citizenship. Responsibilities Lead research, design, implementation, and deployment of Machine Learning algorithms, intelligent agents, or optimization solutions for enterprise applications leveraging the C3 AI Suite. Assist and enable C3 AI's federal customers to build their own applications on the C3 AI Suite. Contribute to the design and implementation of new features of the C3 AI Suite. Qualifications US Citizenship (and willingness to obtain a security clearance) MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or equivalent fields. Applied Machine Learning experience (regression and classification, supervised and unsupervised learning). Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Confident presenter, capable of articulating insights, results, and strategies to stakeholders, executives, and customers in high-stakes or strategic settings. Strong mathematical background (statistics, linear algebra, calculus, probability, and optimization). Ability to dive into a large ML codebase to debug and improve it. Ability to drive a project and work both independently and in a team. Preferred Qualifications Active TS/SCI with CI or Full-Scope Polygraph Experience with deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or application of large language models (RAG, Agentic, etc.). Understanding of optimization (constrained, stochastic, convex, and non-convex optimization problems). C3 AI offers a competitive compensation package and excellent benefits.
