Help shape the future of data streaming by collaborating with a passionate group of engineers who are dedicated to enhancing our fully managed service that simplifies the use of Apache Kafka for streaming data processing. If you love tackling complex software challenges and have a keen interest in open source contributions, this is the perfect role for you! As an integral member of the Amazon MSK team, you will: Contribute to the development of APIs and workflows that support the MSK service. Work on the core Kafka platform and create tools that assist the Kafka community. Design and implement innovative features, improve performance, and explore new technologies. Prototype scalable solutions and ensure the quality of changes through thorough testing and reviews. Collaborate with fellow engineers to build this large-scale AWS service. Engage with senior leaders to shape your team's roadmap and identify necessary changes in open source platforms. The ideal candidate will have: 3+ years of experience in professional software development. 2+ years in system design or architecture, with a focus on reliability and scalability. A strong programming background in at least one software language. Preferred qualifications include: 3+ years in the full software development life cycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, and operational processes.
