Visit & to learn more about who we are and the products we make! About This Role Textron Systems is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our team. This individual will work as part of a multidisciplinary design engineering team during the development phases of an emerging program. Responsibilities include developing new FPGA designs with a focus on simulation and verification, and transitioning those designs into ASICs. The candidate should be fluent in VHDL coding techniques to implement decoders, encoders, shift registers, counters, and state machines for controlling serial bus data transfers, decoding and executing commands, and generating simple parallel data stream outputs. Our Design Engineering team focuses on developing and improving new product designs to support advanced programs for military customers. Qualifications Greater than 10 years of experience in mixed-signal electronics design Highly experienced VHDL designer with ASIC experience Design of decoders, registers, counters, and state machines for decoding serial commands, controlling serial data transfers, and generating variable pulse widths Strong simulation and verification skills with Test Bench experience Xilinx experience in ISE and Vivado preferred Demonstrated discipline in software documentation Experience working within a formal software development environment Support programming and debugging of FPGA Guide and support the conversion of VHDL code into an ASIC Education: BS degree in electrical engineering or computer programming; MS is a plus Active security clearance is preferred; eligibility to obtain clearance is required How We Care At Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
