The Opportunity: As a Lead Software Engineer, you will own the implementation of technical solutions for GNSS Simulation and related technologies. Your role involves leading R&D efforts to develop new features, integrate platforms, and validate system performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality systems. This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager in Rochester, NY. Our Technology: Safran Federal Systems provides Resilient Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (R-PNT) solutions and custom engineering services to U.S. Government agencies and defense organizations. We work on classified and unclassified projects and support strategic partnerships in key defense PNT technologies. Responsibilities: Develop software for high-performance GNSS simulation systems. Validate, test, and document codebases. Communicate with sensors and hardware, including low latency and precision time applications. Optimize code for deployment on resource-constrained devices. Implement and enhance GNSS targeting algorithms. Provide technical support during system deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Collaborate closely with a small team of specialists, emphasizing proactive and structured problem-solving. Qualifications: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. Experience with C/C++, Qt, Linux, networking protocols, and Python. Knowledge of Git, Gitlab, CI/CD tools, and software architecture. Experience with GNSS receivers, SDRs, and navigation sensors. Experience developing latency-sensitive systems and working with digital hardware. Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to technical and non-technical audiences. Secret security clearance or ability to obtain within a year. US Citizenship required. Willingness to travel up to 10% and move within the office as needed.
