Principal Data Scientist, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics Join to apply for the Principal Data Scientist, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics role at BMO U.S. . This role is within the AI and Advanced Analytics team under the Chief Data and Analytics Officer for Risk and Finance. The team develops and implements AI-powered tools across Risk and Finance groups. Key responsibilities include: Developing AI tools using Large Language Models and Machine Learning for predictive modeling, financial analysis, and risk management. Applying techniques such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), quantization, and LoRA to adapt LLMs to organizational needs. Mining and analyzing large structured and unstructured data sets to generate insights or predictive models. Designing solutions to improve business processes, efficiency, and risk management. Collaborating with technology teams for deployment and implementation. Supporting governance and responsible AI principles in tool development. Qualifications: Graduate degree, preferably a PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields. 5+ years of experience or research in relevant areas. Strong Python programming skills and experience analyzing large data sets. Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, ML, and LLMs. Skills in data visualization, wrangling, preprocessing, and data-driven decision making. Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Salary: $122,400 - $228,000 (pay varies based on location, experience, and qualifications).
