Join Amazon's Management team as a Software Development Engineer II, Middle Mile Routing Solutions and be part of our exciting evolution! We are transitioning from outsourcing transportation to managing it in-house in collaboration with our Line Haul Service Providers (LSPs). Our mission is to create the most efficient and optimal transportation solution globally, leveraging our innovative technology and engineering expertise.
As we expand into new regions and innovate our supply chain, we are looking to fundamentally reshape how people receive their orders. With a focus on delivering a wide range of products – from AmazonFresh groceries to large electronic items – we aim to drastically reduce transportation costs across the entire ecosystem.
You will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge products that route millions of freight in real-time. You will be involved in creating complex software solutions that function across various platforms including our vendors, warehouses, and carriers, optimally managing both time and cost for package delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building and operating backend applications at scale.
Handling thousands of requests per second and making impactful business decisions.
Integrating with a diverse network of carriers and handling unique business rules.
Enhancing the ordering and delivery experience for millions of customers.

Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
Experience with at least one programming language.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of complete software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
