Location: Potomac Divisional Headquarters, Working in Charleston, WV or Surrounding area (Remote) Position Type: Regular Full-Time Pay Range: $85,000 - $106,000 About this opportunity: Under the general direction of the Divisional IT Manager II, the Sr. Network Administrator is responsible for supporting the Potomac Division's network infrastructure and phone system (e.g., servers, routers, communications hardware, and software). The incumbent addresses issues proactively, responds to trouble tickets for CAC and locations in WV, participates in planning and design to improve computing experience, manages Active Directory environments, supports LAN/WAN networks, and performs administrator and support functions to ensure system availability, security, and performance. The role includes Tier 3 Help Desk support and supporting mobile devices, including research, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment. The incumbent serves as a technical resource to management to ensure business processes and systems (computers, printers, copiers, telephones, cameras, Cisco VoIP, video conferencing) are functioning optimally. The incumbent will spend two days a week in Charleston Area Command and three days working remotely, including travel to assigned locations. Key responsibilities: Analyze, test, and resolve issues related to mobile computing devices to ensure proper network functionality. Manage and sustain LAN and WAN networks, ensuring application operability and reviewing software utilization. Plan, install, configure firewalls, routers, and related hardware/software to maintain data links between headquarters and field locations, in collaboration with the Divisional IT Manager II and Director of Network Services. Serve as a technical expert for establishing new network environments and advise on connectivity with Territorial Headquarters. Evaluate new networked computer programs for effective interface and translate user requirements into specifications. Maintain VPN and communication services within the division and territory. Research solutions for WAN data links to provide shared database access, email, and internet connectivity. Implement and upgrade IT infrastructure and services in collaboration with management. Troubleshoot Linux/Unix and Windows equipment, resolving issues across multiple networks. Manage inventory, warranty status, IP schemes, router configurations, and network documentation. Recommend and evaluate hardware as needed. Provide Tier 3 support, analyzing and troubleshooting complex network and system issues. Support hardware, software, and application problems, interfacing with vendors and software development staff. Visit sites to provide expertise and technical assistance, resolving problems onsite. Support computer operations, programming staff, and help desk to meet business needs. Ensure effective backup of server information, monitor backup integrity, and troubleshoot backup issues. Report changes in IT infrastructure to the IT Manager II. Identify and resolve hardware, software, network, telephony, server, and communication problems. Resolve application software issues related to documentation and configuration. Develop instructions and provide guidance for software installation and configuration. Conduct site surveys, evaluate cable and printer requirements, and provide user training. Respond to correspondence regarding computer or software use and support. Install new software releases, customize applications, and configure operating systems and hardware. Manage help desk tickets, providing detailed updates from start to resolution. What we are looking for in you: Associate's Degree in IT or related field, or two years of Technical College; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Alternatively, equivalent training and experience. Six years' experience in computer support, networking, and server administration; experience with Lotus Notes/Domino and Active Directory preferred. Valid State Driver's License. One or more relevant certifications are required upon hire; two certifications are preferred. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, walking, manual dexterity, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and travel to field locations within the division.
