This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology, Enterprise Wireless Communication Branch, located in Orlando, FL. Joining Customs & Border Protection will allow you to use your expertise in Information Technology (IT) principles, concepts and methods to support Information Technology systems and services. In this Information Technology Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals to provide technology service, implement projects and deploy systems to reduce downtime and maintain operational availability. Major duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Reviewing network utilization statistics and performance measures; ensuring network stability, quality and maximum performance while maintaining system security and integrity. Researching, evaluating and triaging incidents to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact. Analyzing incident reports and network alerts from various sources and overseeing the implementation of corrective actions executed by the subject matter experts. Tracking and reporting on plan and design development for network modifications and enhancements following postmortem and root cause analyses.
