We are currently looking for an Intermediate DevOps Engineer to join our expanding team. This role will involve working closely with our existing team to support and enhance our AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineers and external DevOps contractors to provide support for various tools, users, and existing software systems that facilitate the distribution of incentives for clean energy technology reporting systems.
In this position, you will leverage your technical expertise and team-oriented mindset to handle various tasks, ensuring that our systems effectively meet our clients' needs while supporting energy and cost-saving objectives. You will regularly interact with a diverse group of technical professionals and contribute to the growth of our energy solutions initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Support a variety of cloud-based deployments across multiple projects.
Respond to support requests with timely solutions.
Assist in building and maintaining testing and automation tools alongside IT infrastructure.
Provide technical direction, training, and guidance to junior DevOps staff and team members.
Troubleshoot issues related to AWS, networking, databases, and more.
Monitor system operations to proactively identify potential problems.
Read, write, review, and verify scripts in Python and other scripting languages.
Coordinate with our valued DevOps partners to minimize outsourced work.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical background with at least 5 years of professional engineering experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in AWS DevOps engineering.
Experience managing and enhancing Cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
Skilled in implementing and supporting Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
Proficiency as a system administrator for Linux systems.
Experience with relational databases, such as MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
Strong multitasking, documentation, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience collaborating directly with engineers and software project managers.
Fluency in Python and familiarity with Django or similar object-oriented languages is a plus.
Familiarity with Tableau, Airflow, Redshift, and OpenSearch is an advantage.
Experience with Jira Software and other Atlassian products is preferred.
Background in energy efficiency or renewable energy is a plus.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $108,000 - $125,000 annually based on experience. We provide an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax contribution plans, and participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
This is a hybrid work opportunity, requiring in-office attendance at one of our locations a minimum of 1 day per week (currently Wednesdays). Our office locations are in Oakland, CA, Portland, OR, Chicago, IL, and Boston, MA.
