Network SME Lead
Position Summary
As the High-Skills Network Technical Lead, your main responsibility will be to ensure the ongoing support and reliability of all components within the LSEG ecosystem, including platforms, networks, applications, and services. You will provide 4th-line support to the Network Products and Services functions, ensuring operational stability and adaptability of the global network. Your focus will be on creating and maintaining software automation to improve the reliability and availability of digital platforms and their software delivery pipelines. Role Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain systems, software, and applications across various domains to achieve high quality outcomes. Make independent technical design and amendment decisions, effectively leading your workload. Analyze data and understand business requirements to translate them into technical specifications aligned with infrastructure and network capacity. Complete relevant reporting documentation adhering to internal and external standards. Collaborate with other business areas to schedule and coordinate capacity and network upgrades, meeting service level objectives. Lead network upgrades when necessary, coordinating with internal teams and third parties. Build accurate documentation and monitor system performance to support business activities and continuous improvement. Support the deployment of emergent engineering patterns across development teams. Contribute to designing solutions within the infrastructure and network domain.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an IT-related field. 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer. Preferably CCIE Certified. Experience in architecture or engineering roles is valuable. Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols, with a preference for CCIE certification. Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista technologies, actively pursuing further accreditation. Expertise in LAN, WAN, HSRP, NAT, MPLS, VPN, GRE, BGP, and OSPF. Knowledge of multicast concepts (IGMP, RP, PIM) and low-latency technologies used in finance. Proficiency in network packet analysis and capture tools. Experience with Data Centre Networking, SDN, Cisco ACI, VxLAN, and related technologies. Understanding of cloud environments and network security best practices. Familiarity with load balancing, TCP/IP, and multicast internet environments. Proficiency in Service Management processes, ideally ITIL. Exposure to the financial sector technologies is a plus. Skills in Python and Ansible for automation. Strong English communication skills and client management abilities.
