Job Description The successful candidate will oversee the successful delivery of parks design and development projects, in accordance with the City’s Capital Works Programme, project plans and programme requirements. The key responsibilities of this role include: Assist the Coordinator to manage the successful design and delivery of parks projects and the capital works program. Plan, design and manage small to medium sized parks upgrade projects. Assist with budget monitoring and evaluation. Contractor management including regular meetings and budget reviews. Participate on evaluation panels. Negotiate and coordinate architect, builder and other contractor services. Contractor induction in accordance with the City’s protocols and processes. Comply with the City’s procurement protocols and processes. Investigate cost-saving opportunities and apply where applicable. Prepare and implement a communications plan ensuring all stakeholders are informed about appropriate milestones, issues and achievements. Form and maintain partnerships with City staff, community and stakeholder groups, other government and non- government agencies. Prepare written submissions, reports and other correspondence as required. Supervise, monitor and report on contracted works. Any other duties as required. Demonstrated parks design skills, project and contract management skills, with the ability to produce high quality work within budget and tight timeframes. Ability to multi-task, prioritise workload and meet required deadlines. Well-developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all deliverables. Effective collaborator and contributor to a team environment with a shared vision. Proficient user of design, word processing, & spreadsheet software applications. Relevant tertiary level qualifications in landscape architecture, parks project management or equivalent and 3 years’ relevant workplace experience Salary package: From $97,864.00 to $107,640.00 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
