Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Role Summary/Purpose: Synchrony’s exciting partnership with PayPal and Venmo offers opportunities in model risk management to develop credit, fraud, and marketing models for these portfolios. Working closely with the PayPal/Venmo team, the role involves enhancing underwriting, account management, fraud, and marketing strategies through advanced data and analytics. We seek an innovative VP who will collaborate on data and analytics projects to support these efforts.

Responsibilities include:

Managing credit risk and fraud frameworks and models with the PayPal/Venmo team.

Data collection, cleansing, model assessment, and validation.

Building models using machine learning, logistic regression, decision trees, etc.

Data analysis to identify opportunities.

Ensuring compliance with fair lending and legal standards.

Managing model inventory and documentation.

Overseeing model testing, monitoring, validation, and audit processes.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Qualifications:

Master’s in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.

At least 3 years of experience in credit risk or financial industry, or 8 years if without a degree.

Hands-on modeling experience with credit/fraud scorecards and machine learning techniques.

Proficiency in programming languages such as SAS, SQL, R, Python.

Additional information: Salary range: $135,000 - $230,000 annually, plus bonus. Position level: 12. The role offers flexible work arrangements, including remote options.
