The company is an essential business and growing rapidly in its industry. The Director of Product Development and Strategy is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth, maximize profitability, and enhance customer engagement within the industry. About the Role This leader will focus on identifying and implementing cross-sell and upsell opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights, customer segmentation, and market trends. Working closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations teams, the Director will ensure alignment of product offerings with business goals and customer needs. Responsibilities Strategic Growth Initiatives:
Develop and execute strategies to drive incremental revenue through cross-selling and upselling across product lines. Market & Competitive Analysis:
Analyze industry trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and differentiate offerings. Product Positioning & Portfolio Optimization:
Define product positioning, bundling strategies, and models that encourage complementary purchases. Collaboration with Sales & Marketing:
Work with sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns, sales enablement tools, and training programs that drive increased adoption of cross-category solutions. Data-Driven Decision Making:
Utilize analytics to track performance, measure effectiveness of cross-sell/upsell initiatives, and refine strategies accordingly. Customer Engagement & Insights:
Gather customer feedback and work with product development teams to enhance offerings and create customer-centric solutions. Supply Chain & Inventory Alignment:
Partner with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure availability of key product groupings and minimize stock issues that could hinder sales. Sales Enablement:
Support sales teams with insights, playbooks, and tools that enhance their ability to present bundled solutions and maximize account penetration. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred). 10+ years of experience in product strategy, category management, or sales leadership within industrial distribution, manufacturing, or a related sector. Strong understanding of the industry, including customer applications and industry standards. Demonstrated success in implementing cross-sell and upsell strategies that drive revenue growth. Excellent analytical skills with experience in leveraging data and business intelligence tools to drive decision-making. Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience working with CRM, ERP, and sales enablement tools to optimize product strategy execution.
