Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I) of the Cloud Services Section within the Infrastructure Services Division, the incumbent acts as a technical lead and subject matter expert in the successful delivery of cloud-based solutions and services. The incumbent will work as a member of a specialized team of Information Technology (IT) professionals and will communicate and collaborate directly with cross-divisional technical teams at the Legislative Data Center (LDC). The incumbent will manage, administer and secure LDC provisioned cloud tenants/services, and will work with stakeholders and cross-divisional teams to identify business requirements in the delivery of cloud solutions and services. The incumbent will be responsible for keeping up to date on the current trends in the industry and performs as a cloud expert to help determine/identify the optimal cloud solution/cloud computing strategy to meet the evolving business needs of the legislature. The incumbent will ensure the successful implementation of secure cloud technologies by facilitating communication between the various technical teams, vendors, and key stakeholders. The incumbent will provide timely updates to internal and external customers, translating progress in relatable non-technical terms, and will consult with customers, the Office of Legislative Counsel (OLC) and legislative support organizations to ensure requirements are understood and consistent with the business objectives of the legislature. The incumbent will use knowledge of legislative business processes to align project and program deliverables with enterprise strategic objectives and will utilize available technical and business expertise to continuously improve cloud services. The area of responsibility managed by the incumbent is critical to the business success of the OLC and its customers, where the consequence of error is high. This position will require carrying a State issued mobile device and will involve working late nights, weekends and on-call hours as necessary to resolve problems, provide extended customer support coverage or perform implementation of IT products and services as required by legislative customers and business. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change based on departmental operational needs. Employees are required to report to the office as necessary.

Department Information The Office of Legislative Counsel (OLC) is a small civil service department whose mission is to provide responsive nonpartisan and confidential legal services and information technology support services to the California State Legislature and in support of the legislative process. This position is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Four (4) or more years of experience providing critical technical support services

• Experience administering and supporting on-premise and/or cloud technologies such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Active Directory/Entra ID, and/or Microsoft 365

• Experience with scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell)

• Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving technical issues

• Experience building strong relationships with high-profile customers and communicating effectively and professionally with customers, executive leadership, and internal teams

• Knowledge of data governance and data loss prevention

• Knowledge of project management and vendor management practices to provide advanced technical support

• Knowledge of the legislative business cycle and legislative calendar in order to avoid service interruptions impacting customers

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
