Job Description Job Responsibilities:
Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts Conducts quality control checks Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Ability to pass a background, drug screen, and physical examination. Must be able to work overtime as required Forklift Certification within 90 days of job entry date Computer proficiency required - data entry skills Inventory control & equipment maintenance Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Positive attitude, decision making, interpersonal skills, conflict management and coaching skills Standing, walking, bending/stooping, push/pull, and repetitive movement up to 12 hours daily Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments COMPETITIVE BENEFITS (visit usbenefits.nov.com for more information about our benefits offerings)
