POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: The Systems Administrator supports the planning, development, and maintenance of the District's networked systems and infrastructure. This role involves moderate to complex responsibilities including system and network administration, cloud computing, database management, cybersecurity, and project leadership. The incumbent ensures secure, efficient, and reliable IT operations while supporting faculty, staff, and students. This position also plays a key role in troubleshooting, technology planning, and implementation of new systems and services. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the support, administration, and security of virtualized host servers, running both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments, enterprise data center hardware, and network infrastructure (firewalls, WANs, and access controls). Additionally, the role includes managing Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, Office 365 cloud administration, and virtual desktop environments, while implementing cybersecurity best practices to safeguard systems and data. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Over the summer the schedule changes to Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Friday off.
