Job Overview The Director of Communication creates and implements effective communication strategies and serves as the key spokesperson and media contact for Housing Court. Responsible for managing all internal and external communications, including public information activities to provide timely and accurate information on matters of public interest. Key Responsibilities

Monitor media coverage about housing issues and respond to inquiries promptly. Prepare, review, and edit materials such as press releases, articles, newsletters, forms, reports, and presentations. Manage digital strategy, including social media, website, videos, and public-access television. Maintain a database of public information contacts and oversee translation of materials. Assist and coach judges and staff with public speaking, presentations, and articles. Organize court tours and educational workshops for community outreach. Manage community engagement efforts and track engagement metrics. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. At least five years of experience in marketing, media, advertising, broadcasting, public relations, or related fields. Experience managing social media content. Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Internet, email). Knowledge of desktop publishing and graphic design. Valid Ohio driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance. Ability to lift or push items up to 50 lbs occasionally. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with newspaper or broadcast media as a reporter or editor. Experience with Microsoft or Apple production software. Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple initiatives. Excellent relationship-building skills, high energy, and maturity. Experience organizing community meetings and outreach. Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset. Familiarity with Cleveland and its institutions. Court Expectations

Adherence to court policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders. Ability to write, edit, and proofread effectively. Flexible schedule and high organizational skills. Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information.
