We also partner with other hauling companies to provide specialty services for customers in the civil construction, transportation & building construction, manufacturing, and heavy equipment industries. Our transportation group has performed transportation services including oversize/overweight structural steel for bridges, finished concrete products, steel warehousing, and pipe in the Mid-Atlantic and DC-Metro area

The

Four Axle Truck Driver

will perform various duties to operate a combination of tractor-trailer and 4 - axle trailer loads to deliver company products to jobsites or other locations. Work from written and verbal instructions, accepted driving practices, commercial driver license, state, and federal regulations to load, unload, and transport girders, plates, and parts. Review and communicate numerous DOT and safety related issues with department co-workers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Operate 4 axle tractor-trailer to deliver company products to job sites or other locations. Previous experience driving and loading all trailers, jeep & dolly, steerable, pull apart, self-steering and stretches. Minimum 5 years tillerman experience with the self-steer trailers on all products. Exposure driving multiple types of trailer configurations and set ups. This position will be expected to assist with training as requested. Work from written and verbal instructions, accepted driving practices, commercial driver license, state, and federal regulations to load, unload, and steel and concrete products, plates, and parts. Maintain and ensure tractor and trailer operate in proper and safe condition. Check vehicles and trailers for fluids, fuels, oils, lights, and operating systems at normal levels. Ensure loads are secure with tie downs, chains, blocking, balance and caution markers or flags. Follow pre-planned routing and time schedules along with any special instructions. Inform escort drivers of specified routes, regulations, destinations, and special instructions. Assist in unloading loads as requested. Maintain proper shipping and transportation documents including signed or validated receipts, permits and bill of landings. Obtain road services or repairs as authorized. Accountable for ez pass and expenses for business use.. Record trip logs. Proficient computer skills using various hardware devices. Experience with various software programs as Driver Ap, Fleet locate, Geo tab. UKG, SAP Maintain flexibility in schedule to plan trips and overnight stay. The shift hours will vary to meet our customers’ needs. This schedule may have an undefined start and return time. Maintain a valid commercial driver’s license, and qualifying physical condition for employment per I.C.C., D.O.T. and High Transit, LLC. requirements. Write and submit time and production forms and other records. Check and detect equipment or work for faulty operation, defective materials, and quality problems. Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Report on any unusual conditions. Observe all company, local, state, and federal rules, laws, and regulations including safety, quality of work and DOT. Maintain a good standing river record. Complete all safety and training requirements. Professionally represent High Transit. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Perform other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Must have

over 5 years

of experience driving experience hauling oversize loads. Flatbed Experience Open Desk Experience A valid

PA CDL (Class 7) High school diploma or GED equivalent. Working for The High Companies:
