Your skills may be an excellent resource for the Senior IT Auditor role with the Maricopa County Internal Audit Department! The Senior IT Auditor provides objective information on the County's system of internal controls to the Board of Supervisors so they can make informed decisions and protect the interests of County citizens. We'll count on you to perform engagement fieldwork such as conducting interviews/tests, gathering information/evidence, and reviewing financial statements/reports. Your role is essential as you'll determine whether County financial and accounting systems, information technology, departmental operations, programs, and contracts are compliant with federal and state laws, grant requirements, and County policies. We Require Five years of professional auditing experience
One year of IT audit experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, or a related field
Postgraduate degrees or professional-level-related experience may substitute for the education or experience on a year-for-year basis
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or other professional certification relevant to internal auditing
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
We Also Value Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration)
Experience leading IT engagements
Experience developing written audit reports and formally presenting audit findings and recommendations
Job Contributions Demonstrates leadership in conducting complex engagements of the County financial and accounting systems, departmental operations, programs, and contracts under the direction of an Audit Supervisor
Demonstrates due professional care by considering the: extent of work needed to achieve engagement objectives
complexity and significance of engagement matters
adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes
Develops and documents a plan for each engagement including objectives, scope, timing, and resource allocations
Considers departmental strategies, objectives, and risks relevant to the engagement
Identifies sufficient information to achieve engagement objectives
Bases conclusions and engagement results on appropriate analysis and evaluations
Documents sufficient information to support engagement results and conclusions in accordance with department standards
Executes engagements with limited oversight from the Audit Supervisor including initial work paper review of assigned team members
Attends and leads engagement meetings and conferences if delegated
Executes department standardized engagement and administerial practices and encourage the same of team members
Demonstrates a solutions-oriented mind set by identifying and presenting potential solutions
Provides training, coaching, and mentorship to team members
Demonstrates project management capabilities that achieve results and complete tasks in established timeframes and helping the team do the same.
Exhibits forward thinking ability by identifying potential obstacles and communicating those with the Audit Supervisor
Seeks opportunities for economy/efficiency of County departments' operations
Performs other duties as delegated by an Audit Supervisor and/or Audit Manager
Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment, and teleworking from home
Travel may be required in and around Maricopa County (not out of state)
