Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join a dynamic, technology-driven organization as a senior-level Java Engineer (AVP). The role involves developing and maintaining scalable Java applications, optimizing system performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, high-performance applications using Java frameworks, algorithms, and industry-standard design patterns. Participate in an agile development process, ensuring solutions meet business goals and deliver measurable outcomes. Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and integration. Share knowledge and contribute to engineering best practices through collaboration with the team. Perform code reviews, providing actionable feedback to improve code quality and team efficiency. Diagnose and resolve application issues to ensure reliability, scalability, and optimal performance. Qualifications: Required: 5+ years of development experience in Java or other JVM languages Proficiency in relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) Bachelor's degree or equivalent Preferred: Experience with event-driven messaging (MQ, Kafka, JMS) Experience with Spring (especially Spring Boot) and RESTful services Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks (TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform) Familiarity with build tools (Gradle, Maven) Experience with caching technologies (Redis, Hazelcast) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB) is optional.
