How To Be Successful In The Role The Director of External Affairs will be a member of the Senior Management Team, working side by side with other directors across the organization to achieve Metro’s strategic goals. This position will involve balancing strategic work and managing day-to-day activities of five programs that are fast-paced, internally and externally focused, and support various stakeholders. Although the programs have been in place for a while, they are still maturing and have many opportunities for improvement and growth. The Director will support employee development, encourage process improvements, and be willing to try new approaches while recognizing efforts that may not be as effective as planned. The role may require supporting events and tours, which could involve working evenings, weekends, and driving a fifteen-passenger van. No two days will be alike! Responsible for representing Metro Water Recovery in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with external stakeholders.
