Job Title: Project Manager
Reports to: Director of Creative & Project Management
Department: Project Management
Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for owning the full lifecycle of retail fixture and environment projects-from sales handoff through delivery and installation. This role ensures that every project is executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction. The Project Manager combines leadership, critical thinking, and technical expertise to manage complexity, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver solutions that support both client success and company growth objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
Lead project kickoff meetings, define scope, establish timelines, and develop detailed project plans. Own all phases of projects from sales handoff through delivery and installation. Anticipate and resolve scope, delivery, and quality issues to ensure successful outcomes.
Client Relations & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing prompt communication and proactive updates. Manage client expectations throughout the project, ensuring alignment with deliverables and timelines. Foster strong relationships with a client-first, service-oriented mindset.
Financial & Timeline Management
Build, monitor, and manage project budgets to support profitability goals. Track schedules and costs, implement mitigation strategies for risks, manage change orders, and invoice approvals. Ensure projects meet financial and timeline commitments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Vendor Oversight
Collaborate with design, engineering, production, sales, procurement, and logistics teams to deliver project milestones. Work in close coordination with production and procurement to verify schedules, confirm material readiness, and manage delivery logistics effectively. Oversee vendor performance to maintain quality standards and on-time delivery. Coordinate installation schedules, site readiness, and final delivery.
Project Tracking & Reporting
Maintain accurate records, including project plans, meeting notes, status reports, schedules, meeting notes, and change logs. Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders. Support project closeout activities and post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of project management experience in retail manufacturing, fixtures, or related design/build industries. Proficient in project management software and ERP systems (e.g., Smartsheet, Accruent, Microsoft Office, GSS, Ariba); familiarity with CAD/design files is a plus. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, design documentation, and retail construction timelines. Exceptional organizational, communication, and client relationship skills. Proven ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects with accuracy and confidence. Key Competencies:
