The primary work location(s) will be at In-Person, With the option to work remotely up to 80% of the time: Work Location: William B. Travis State Building, 1701 North Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78701 - . The working position is Hybrid - On Site and Telework .
The Business Analyst (BA) position at the client works on multiple projects that support the mission of the agency of improving outcomes for Texas students, with a focus on the early childhood integrated data system project.
This position performs advanced, senior-level business analysis work as well as user experience design work to ensure a positive and productive end user experience. The position will ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and research and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices and will partner with the product Client and other key stakeholders on design solutions. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development Client through which requirements flow.
This BA will be involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline, the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfilment of all requirements, including requirements for enhancements post-implementation.

Years Required/Preferred Experience
8 Required Experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements
8 Experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs)
8 Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience
8 Experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices
8 Experience designing mock ups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
5 Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
5 Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
3 Preferred Documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements"
3 Documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira"
2 Documented experience working for or closely with CLIENT or another state or local education agency
1 Documented work experience with Client Incentive Allotment (TIA) program
