Start: End of August FTE/Direct Hire Salary: Competitive base salary + equity package + bonus 15% + FTE benefits Location: Chicago- hybrid, twice a week in the loop (Mondays and Wednesday onsite) MUST: 5+ years as a backend developer Bachelor's in engineering or computer science Expert with spring boot development Great communication Has been a lead or principal developer (eventually will mentor backend devs) and comfortable with being the main backend developer (ability to understand architecture while being a strong developer) Extensive experience in relational databases (Postgres) Must be very strong with understanding relational databases Knows how database constraints and locks work Ability to write PostgreSQL queries manually Strong with cloud infrastructure, high availability & multi-distributed systems Has designed a distributed system and microservices with a message que in place- RabbitMQ or Kafka Must understand how Kubernetes or containerized applications work Strong experience with Unit testing with j unit Experience in the cloud with one of these: AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience with at least one type of SQL relational database (They use Postgres) PLUS: WebSocket experience, build out api’s for the front end of the platform Experience with RabbitMQ or other messaging platforms Start up background Used Postman for testing Day to day: This fast growing crypto fin tech company headquartered in Chicago is looking for a Lead Backend Developer to join their team as a full time employee .

The Lead Backend Developer will focus on our clearing house platform which is in arunning production environment with multiple financial firms using our systems regularly. We focus in the fintech space, while crypto isn’t highly regulated the transfer for funds is highly regulated. The ideal person is comfortable debugging and writing code that goes into production without their hands pushing it to production, and comfortable working on multiple tasks at once because we are a small team that gets pulled in many different directions. This person will be the main back end developer currently who will code along with the Head of Engineering for the firm. We will be expanding this team in the next 6 months, and this Lead will eventually help in the mentorship and leadership of this group. We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast pace and small team environment, and crypto runs 24/7 through 365 so we are constantly on the go. Essentially you will working on the platform, developing on the clearing platform and eventually being a people lead down the road. This company is a Java shop and utilize Spring Boot as well as focuses on working on REST Api’s.
