About The Position
Dexis seeks an experienced Senior Analyst to support an anticipated project with the Department of Labor in the Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking (OCFT) to support communication, research and data analysis. The Department of Labor (DOL)/ILAB reports on child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking in accordance with Congressional Mandates and an Executive Order.
This position is based in Washington, DC and is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities
Conduct advanced qualitative and quantitative analyses of child-labor, forced-labor, and human-trafficking datasets, ensuring methodological rigor and data integrity. Draft analytical sections of ILAB’s mandated reports, country profiles, briefing notes, and supply-chain studies, integrating feedback from the COR and senior technical staff. Perform quality-control checks on data sources, statistical outputs, and narrative content, flagging inconsistencies and recommending corrective actions. Develop data visualizations and dashboards in collaboration with graphic designers and communications specialists to translate complex findings into accessible formats for diverse audiences. Support mixed-methods research design—survey instruments, interview guides, desk reviews—and assist with IRB and ethical-compliance documentation. Coordinate with editorial, outreach, and digital teams to align analytical outputs with production timelines and style-guide requirements. Contribute to training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities that build project-wide analytical capacity and promote best practices in labor-data research.
Qualifications
A master's degree in behavioral science, behavioral economics or another relevant social science field. A minimum of five (5) years of experience conducting behavioral diagnoses in social program (i.e., identifying the key cognitive biases leading to a particular outcome) A minimum of five (5) years of experience designing and testing social and behavioral science interventions in social welfare or enforcement programs, preferably related to the program and activities of the Department of Labor, that are intended to improve their effectiveness Experience designing behavioral interventions at a variety of levels, including client-centered interventions, program staff-level interventions, and policy or process re-design Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, or Python) and advanced Excel for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization; experience with GIS or dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of child labor, forced labor, human-trafficking issues, and relevant global datasets (e.g., ILOSTAT, UNESCO, trade databases). Strong technical-writing skills with a proven record of producing concise, high-quality analytical reports and briefs under tight deadlines. Experience validating data and ensuring compliance with methodological, citation, and style standards. Ability to present complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and to incorporate stakeholder feedback into final products.
