Scope of Responsibilities

Success Navigator will increase enrollment in Kalamazoo, Comstock, and Battle Creek Adult Education Programs by improving the Navigation program and structure: Provide personalized support to attain higher retention rates, tailored guidance, and access to resources. Improve completion rates as learners benefit from strengthened connections and career pathways.

Performance Responsibilities

Personalized Guidance: Success Navigators will collaborate with Region 8 Success Navigators to provide personalized support to the success coaches across the 15 programs. Assess learner needs, develop individualized learning plans, and monitor progress.

Program Structure Enhancement: Navigators will work closely with program directors and educators to streamline program structures, implement best practices, and improve administrative processes.

Community Partnership Development: Navigators will establish and nurture relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders to create internship opportunities, job placements, and other career development resources for adult learners. Develop a robust support system of community resources connected to the school to eliminate barriers such as childcare, transportation, and emergency needs (e.g., flat tire assistance).

Secure resources: Develop Regional CTE Internship and help facilitate relationships and partnerships with community colleges and employers to establish a pathway for adult learners to graduate, secure credentials, and a diploma, leading to improved employment. Working with 107 programs to get a GED/Diploma and concurrently working with higher education partners to get credit or an advanced degree. Maintain records of students' progress and participation using scheduled appointments, follow-up calls, referrals, adult learning plans, and other items assigned by the AE Leader. Assist in developing and promoting career and college preparation by facilitating group learning, guest speakers, and other activities.

Reports to: This position reports to the Adult Education Program Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree or higher in the education or social work field. At least six months of experience working in navigation services with adult learners. Successful experience working with Microsoft and Google applications. Must have own reliable vehicle to travel between Comstock, Kalamazoo, and Battle Creek. Experience with navigating community resources. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in developing Adult individualized educational plans. Experience in interpreting formal assessments for student skill evaluation. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to interact successfully with a diverse student and community population. Desirable Qualifications

Ability to read, write, and speak French, Spanish, or Arabic Ability to present information to large groups Past experience in working with adults in educational and or social services networks
