Position: Marketing Coordinator

Department: Fund Development

Reports To: Development Director

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, 40 hrs/week

Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator helps to improve the lives of children affected by abuse, neglect and trauma) in the Sacramento region by strengthening relationships with stakeholders and donors, managing agency social media marketing and web presence and building CRH reputation in the community via community events and presentations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Social Media and Web site (35%)

Manage CRHs social media presence with a focus on growing reach and increasing engagement. Develop, write and edit innovative and creative media content across all social media platforms. Respond in a timely manner to questions and engagements from social media followers. Keep up-to-date on current social media trends, new platform features, competition, and best practices. Deliver monthly reports with statistics and results for each account. Regularly create new and engaging content for the CRH website. Develop and implement strategies for increasing traffic and engagement on CRHs website. Strategize and implement ways to maximize online and text-to-give donation platform. Analyze web traffic metrics; develop and deliver monthly website reports with statistics and results. Serve as main contact with CRHs external website administrator and resolve any problems that arise. Perform other duties as assigned.

Fundraising Support (30%)

Effectively respond to individual donor inquiries through written correspondence, telephone contact, personal contact and email. Solicit community/business partners to host CRH donation DipJar and other fundraising initiatives. Assist in special event planning as needed (i.e. holidays, third party events, etc). Coordinate department mailings as needed. Keep donor information/activities updated using Raisers Edge database. Keep up-to-date on current campus needs by regularly communicating with staff; organize regular donation drives to procure needed items. Record and disseminate Fund Development Committee meeting minutes.

Communications (25%)

Manage production of multimedia communications (to potentially include videography, photography, layout and graphic design) to engage external stakeholders. Write and distribute monthly e-newsletter to keep supporters informed and engaged with CRH mission.

Community Engagement (10%)

Promote community relations through social media posts and website. Represent CRH at appropriate agencies/events. Participate in speaking engagements and annual United Way campaign as needed. Respond to donation inquiries from community groups and individuals and coordinate as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Previous experience overseeing social media, developing web content, or demonstrated employment history in a related position is required. Minimum of one (1) year social media, public relations and/or fundraising experience is required. Fundraising experience is preferred. Graphic design experience and video creation/editing experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Must possess a valid California Drivers License. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must pass First Aid certification course before start of employment. Certification can be completed through the Childrens Receiving Home. Must pass CPR within the first six weeks of employment Must pass Bloodborne Pathogens and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification courses offered through the Childrens Receiving Home within the first three months of employment. Must maintain TCI, CPR, First Aid and BBP Certification throughout employment. Must complete online Mandated Reporter Training within first week of employment.

Ability to create polished and professional content with strong proofreading and editing capabilities. Ability to write professional reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to cultivate donors by building strong relationships with individuals. Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers, and social media platforms Knowledge of community resources. Ability to motivate and work with large groups of people. Excellent writing, communication, organizational, time management skills. Ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Must be able to function independently and be able to seek guidance when necessary. Ability to effectively operate office equipment. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Ability to maintain a professional, confidential work environment. Must demonstrate respect for all family lifestyles and cultural values.

Ability to relate with children in a nurturing and respectful manner while maintaining appropriate boundaries with both children and families.

Ability to work cooperatively with a culturally diverse client population and work force.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and talk or hear. Fine motor skills such as typing, the use of a computer mouse and telephone handset is required. Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
