We are looking for a highly skilled, curious, and driven Data Engineer II to help shape and scale our data foundation in support of Heidrick & Struggles' mission to transform executive search and leadership advisory through data-driven insights. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers analytics, AI, and operational efficiency across the firm. You'll bring a builder's mindset to data. To us, context is paramount and connecting you into the needs of the business will best enable you to unlock the potential in our data in designing robust pipelines, standardizing structures, optimizing performance, and enabling scalable, governed access to information. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and business strategy, requiring close collaboration with data science, analytics, product, and business stakeholders to ensure the right data is accessible, trustworthy, and actionable. A successful candidate stays up to date on emerging technologies, best practices and new capabilities to best contribute their voice to new and emerging needs. Responsibilities: Contribute to the design, development, maintenance and evolution of scalable data pipelines, data structures, source systems and warehouse/lake environments. Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to manage, structure, and analyze data from various sources to solve business problems. Adept at managing projects from inception to completion. Contribute to documentation of data models, dictionaries, data flow maps, and metadata to support transparency and data governance. Hands on support of the current ETL processes, share responsibilities for monitoring the current data pipelines and processes. Effectively manages project requirements, ensures timely delivery, and maintains high-quality standards. Ability to find opportunities, assess problems, effectively recommend and implement the best solution. Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to implement data capture, ETL, validation, and QA. Your methodical and intentional approach, crucial for establishing a focused context, will be vital in supporting diverse team efforts while you manage multiple projects and navigate priorities, always ensuring quality and timeliness. Contributes to the development and enforcement of data governance and security policies. Staying abreast of the latest developments in technology and data management practices. Required Qualifications: BS in Computer Science, Software engineering, Information technology, Data and Analytics, Data science or equivalent degree. 3 - 4 years of experience with building and maintaining data lake and data solutions. Strong understanding of data structures, database objects, data normalization and data transformation techniques required. Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex stored procedures for data processing. Familiarity with Snowflake preferred. Knowledge of pipeline tools. Proficiency in python required. Experience in building highly insightful dashboards using visualization tools (Power BI pref)
