Makeup Director (Consultant)
to help bring the Matte & Dewey experience to life. About the Role From developing our signature looks and protocol to training our first team of artists, you’ll help shape the foundation of a brand-new beauty experience. You’ll finalize our look menu and ensure quality, speed, and consistency in every service. This is a project-based contract role with milestone-based pay with the potential to evolve into a full-time leadership position (with equity) as the business expands. What You'll Do Create our founding look menu, application techniques and brands & tools selection Refine our in-studio service protocol — timing, polish, and guest experience Design service flow for speed and consistency Support artist recruitment and training through demos and quality standards Document processes that can scale as we grow You May Be The One If… You’re a working makeup artist or beauty creative with a strong eye and love for systems You’ve worked in fast-paced environments (retail, editorial, pop-up, or express beauty) You’re collaborative, hands-on, and excited to help build something new You’re based in Los Angeles and available for in-person sessions during pre-launch Bonus: You’ve supported launches, trained artists, or built protocols before Why This Is Special You won’t just be doing makeup — you’ll be helping define the standard for how it’s delivered in a whole new format.
