Job Title: Principal Engineer
Job Description
Lead the engineering development activities for mobile cleaning equipment products focusing on new product development and large-scale lifecycle management efforts. This position primarily serves as the Engineering Lead on a cross-functional team tasked with designing and developing innovative electro-mechanical machines that meet performance, quality, cost, and timeline requirements. Additionally, this role leads and contributes to technical product strategy development including product platform and architecture development, product simplification improvements, technology and innovation concept development, product and technology roadmap inputs, and project strategy phase execution.
Responsibilities
Lead engineering development activities for mobile cleaning equipment products.
Serve as the Engineering Lead on a cross-functional team.
Design and develop innovative electro-mechanical machines.
Ensure product performance, quality, cost, and timelines are met.
Contribute to technical product strategy development.
Develop product platform and architecture.
Implement product simplification improvements.
Drive technology and innovation concept development.
Provide inputs for product and technology roadmap.
Execute project strategy phases.
Essential Skills Mechanical engineering
Product development engineering
Integrated product development
Design
BSME or equivalent
10+ years in mechanical engineering for product development
Subsystem or system-level integration experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications BS in Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited institution
MS in Systems or Mechanical Engineering preferred
10+ years of new product development experience
Strong project planning/management experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Experience in electric vehicle or autonomous vehicle development preferred
Strong technical background with machine and system integration experience on complex electro-mechanical systems
Experience with electric vehicle architectures, systems, and subsystems
Demonstrated experience in whole product-level systems requirements development, management, and architecture definition
Work Environment Engage in 90% design and development activities supporting both industrial and commercial products. Engineers and manufactures in Golden Valley. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $81.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
