Job Description: GRI is seeking a driven & passionate Electrical Engineer to join our team in the development of novel 3D radiation mapping systems. You will own system and subsystem designs for high performance radiation detection, implementing prototypes and troubleshooting first article designs while creating detailed documentation. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in one of the following: (1) Mixed signal design, (2) hardware or firmware for first article microcontroller or FPGA designs, (3) high speed multichannel ADC designs (>50MSPS, >2 channels), and/or (4) schematic design and layout of 8+ layer designs with complex design rules or constraints. Applicants should be organized, excel at written and verbal communication, and capable of documenting work-progress in Git. GRI is looking for individuals who are proactive and results oriented in collaborative and independent work. Role and Responsibilities: Collaboratively and/or independently design schematics and layouts for multisensor hardware systems that integrate mixed signal electronics (microcontroller, FPGA and analog circuits) Contribute to existing firmware, lab testing and / or field tests Create first article designs, review documentation for existing designs, improve documentation with Git Identify and select materials & components appropriate for robust production Plan thermal margin and dissipation to fit within specification Work with a diverse team of scientists and engineers Required Qualifications Growth and continuous learning mindset Education : B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Nuclear Engineering Required Skills (must have at least 3 of the below to be considered): 2+years experience with schematic and layout design (Kicad, Altium, Mentor, PADS) 2+years experience with C/C++ and/or Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL 4+years experience with Git & Linux First article schematic & PCB design experience or first article board bring up Desired Qualifications Experience in robotics or multisensor system design Experience in doing quick calculations and/or ability to read data sheets and extract stated performance metrics.
