The Role:
As a
Security Engineer , you will play a dual role in securing Moderna's hybrid infrastructure and strengthening our endpoint security capabilities. This position blends strategic architecture responsibilities with operational expertise in endpoint protection and incident response.
You will lead security risk assessments across our infrastructure, architect resilient networks and applications, and manage the deployment and effectiveness of endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms. You will also be a critical part of our frontline response team-investigating endpoint-based threats, performing forensic analysis, and collaborating closely with the SOC and engineering teams to remediate incidents and enhance detection capabilities.

Support purple team exercises to validate detection and response capabilities. Automate operational workflows using Python or similar scripting languages to streamline response processes. Tune detections in collaboration with the SOC to enhance coverage across the MITRE ATT&CK framework. Identify and remediate endpoint misconfigurations and vulnerabilities. Stay current on emerging threats, adversary tactics, and endpoint evasion techniques. Share threat intel with stakeholders and drive continuous improvement of endpoint defenses. Participate in change management and cross-functional security projects. Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including hands-on experience in security architecture and endpoint threat response. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and endpoint operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux). Hands-on experience with endpoint security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne) and forensic toolkits. Experience analyzing and responding to malware, phishing, and lateral movement techniques. Familiarity with SIEM platforms and cloud logging (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, Chronicle). Knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP cloud security configurations and common misconfigurations. Ability to script or automate (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for repeatable response tasks. Experience conducting or supporting purple team exercises. Here's What You'll Need:
