Job Summary:
The Yard Agent is responsible for inspecting, organizing, and
receiving/delivering
materials, by land and by water. additional responsibilities as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Clocked in and ready to work by 7 am unless otherwise directed - Hours 7am to 5pm, potential for overtime.
Strong Time management skills.
Inspect incoming and outgoing materials, proper documentation, communication, and organization as directed by the yard manager.
Safely move, park, and stage vehicles or equipment as needed within the yard and off-site/field locations as well.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, work area, delivery vehicles, and overall groundskeeping as needed.
Ensure proper placement and identification of incoming and outgoing inventory.
Assist drivers and delivery personnel with directions and loading/unloading materials. Assist other team members and crews as needed.
Operate equipment such as skid steers, Lull, Track-hoe / mini-X, Boom truck/ crane, concrete mixer, and others as needed.
Load trucks, Barges, and deliver materials in a timely manner.
Report safety hazards, damages, or irregularities to Yard management promptly.
Follow company policies and safety procedures at all times.
Work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a team.
Qualifications:
Follows directions well, self-motivated, eager to learn.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or logistics role is a plus.
Ability to drive and operate various types of vehicles and machinery. (Valid drivers license required).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, strong communicator, ability to switch tasks rapidly.
Basic handwritten, computer, or scanner skills for inventory tracking.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions, year-round.
Work Environment:
Outdoor work environment with exposure to weather conditions.
Fast-paced, physically active job requiring walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
On land and water operations.
Additional Notes:
Must pass background check
Safety gear (e.g., steel-toe boots, safety vest) will be required.
