Duties Summary

Performs a variety of difficult and complex clerical or routine administrative work in preparing, checking, reviewing, evaluating, and refining forms, records, and similar materials; prepares reports and maintains continuing records; may supervise others; and performs other related duties as required.

There is one (1) immediate temporary full-time vacancy not-to-exceed 89 days with the Department of Human Resources - Recruitment and Examination Division in Hilo.

This position is temporary non-civil service. Serious inquiries only. Examples of Duties

Recruitment and Examination:

Drafts and submits weekly recruitment newspaper advertisements. Enters new and amended class specifications in the electronic recruitment system, NEOGOV. Tracks and records newspaper advertisement costs. Finalizes job postings and distributes recruitment announcements to County Departments and Agencies. Updates job announcements and related current recruitment lists at the front counter as necessary. Manages social media recruitment accounts and posts job openings on for the public. Maintenance of Recruitment Records and general clerical. Prepares and/or finalize forms, documents, and correspondence. Written Examinations:

Assists staff in administering on-site written examinations. Copies written exam materials and packs examination materials for examinations. Receives and registers applicants at written examinations. Operates a motor vehicle to travel to written examinations, career fairs, etc. May make recommendations and suggest changes to policies and procedures. Information and Assistance:

Advises and assists employees, and/or the public with information regarding recruitment policies, procedures, and processes. Assists walk-in applicants with electronic application process. Prepares and compiles brochures and other general information for job fairs. Prepares training materials and handouts. Represents department at job fairs to provide information regarding the recruitment and examination process and information on available jobs which may require the operation of a motor vehicle. Manages the County of Hawai'i Jobs email. Performs other related duties. Minimum Qualification Requirements Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to:

graduation from high school, and three (3) years of clerical experience which shall have included some typing or keyboarding, and possession of a valid State of Hawai'i driver license (Class 3) or any other valid comparable driver license at the time of filing. (Scan and attach a copy of your valid driver's license to your application). Substitution of education for required clerical experience: an Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university may be substituted for lack of the required clerical experience on a year for year basis (examples: 30 college credits can be substituted for one (1) year of the required clerical experience, an Associates degree can be substituted for two (2) years of the required clerical experience, and a baccalaureate degree or higher can be substituted for four (4) years of the required clerical experience). (Scan and attach a copy of your official college transcript to be credited for the substitution of clerical experience.)
