Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Physician Billing
Position Summary
Summary: The Physician Billing Clerk follows the hospital's and department's mission to meet its objectives in maximizing reimbursement for services provided and ensuring timely cash flow. The billing clerk supports the goals of the department under the management team of the Physician Billing Department. The Physician Billing department provides billing service to our physicians, including ancillary departments. This position requires that the biller review charges and demographic data for accuracy prior to billing for services rendered by the physician. The data must be entered into the practice management system in a timely manner, while maintaining appropriate levels of security to ensure confidentiality for our patients and employees. The billing clerk must be well versed in excel, knowledge of working aged trial balance reports and an understanding of the denial and appeal process for claim reconsideration.
Qualifications
Responsibilities: Education Required • Must complete in-house orientation program • High School Diploma.
Experience And Skills • Speaks, reads and writes English • 2 -3 years of strong billing experience; multi-specialty preferred • Knowledge of Athena/EPIC a plus • Knowledge of payer processing, denials and appeal rights • Understanding Medicare, Medicaid and payer rules and regulations • Ability to work Aged trial balance reports with good resolution • Ability to handle high volume of telephone calls regarding billing inquiries • Ability to work with MSH practice staff regarding EPIC billing concerns
