Senior Software Engineer

to join our

Patient Core Team , which is responsible for building the foundational technology behind our clinical data store. This includes patient indices, scalable data repositories, and standardized APIs that enable efficient and secure healthcare data exchange.

Let's talk about Responsibilities

Design and implement

Java-based backend services

that are scalable, performant, and maintainable. Build and manage

cloud-native data pipelines and microservices

using AWS services such as EKS, S3, DynamoDB, SNS, and SQS. Develop and optimize a

clinical data repository and patient data store , enabling longitudinal patient records and cohort-level analytics. Define, document, and implement

FHIR-compliant APIs

and RESTful interfaces to support seamless interoperability with EMRs and external systems. Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, architecture, clinical informatics, and InfoSec teams to define data models and enforce standards and protocols. Lead

DevOps practices

including CI/CD automation and infrastructure-as-code to improve delivery efficiency. Provide mentorship to junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and champion test-driven development and automation. Clearly communicate technical strategies, design decisions, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Own the software development lifecycle for key platform features from design through deployment. Let's talk about Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience developing

Java (Spring Boot)

backend systems. 4+ years of experience working with

AWS cloud-native services . 3+ years of experience with

NoSQL databases , data modeling, and schema design. Proven experience with

healthcare data formats and standards

such as HL7, FHIR, or CDA. Familiarity with

clinical data warehousing

and systems designed for longitudinal patient data storage. Solid experience in

API design and implementation , especially RESTful and FHIR-based interfaces. Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality software in regulated, healthcare-related environments. Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing

data integrity, deduplication, and longitudinal patient records , including working with EMPI or similar technologies. Familiarity with

clinical data modeling

and repository best practices (e.g., eCRFs, CDISC standards, and database validation). Exposure to

clinical decision support systems (CDSS)

or healthcare analytics platforms. Hands-on experience with

Docker, Kubernetes , and infrastructure automation tools. Working knowledge of database systems such as

Microsoft SQL Server , Hadoop, or cloud-native data warehouses. Understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks such as

HIPAA , FDA, GxP, or similar regulatory standards.
