Location: Reston, VA, USA Length and terms: Long term - W2 or C2C Position created on 08/05/2025 03:57 pm Job Description: About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in Generative AI (Gen AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to join our innovative data science team. This role will be pivotal in leading AI/ML solution design, converting manual processes to automated NLP-based systems, and integrating with cloud and API-driven platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and data transformation pipelines, and will support the conversion of code to human-readable natural language. Key Responsibilities: Lead and contribute to projects focused on applying AI/ML, especially Generative AI, to solve business problems. Drive the conversion of manual code/scripts into natural language using LLMs and NLP techniques. Design and implement AI/ML-based solutions, including model development, training, evaluation, and deployment. Develop robust data pipelines and support data engineering tasks like SQL scripting, data modeling, indexing, and structuring unstructured data. Translate complex AI concepts into human-readable formats for stakeholder communication and solution presentation. Work with prompt engineering techniques and API integrations to enhance LLM performance and usability. Integrate AI/ML solutions with various cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and internal tools. Participate in quarterly onsite planning sessions; travel expenses reimbursed per policy. Must-Have Qualifications: Experience: 9+ years 6+ years of experience in Data Science, with 23 years of hands-on AI/ML and NLP experience. Strong background in Generative AI, LLMs (e.g., GPT), and prompt engineering. Proficient in Python scripting, SQL, and working with RDBMS systems. Experience with data preparation, transformation, and indexing for AI readiness. Proven track record of automating manual processes using AI/ML techniques. Experience in solution design across the data science lifecycle. Familiarity with AWS tech stack and integrating AI/ML models with cloud platforms. Strong analytical and communication skills to translate technical findings into business insights. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs). Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks. Exposure to Genetic AI algorithms. Background or experience in the Healthcare industry.
