Duties

Help

Responsible for the operation of the Child and Youth Services (CYS) Technology Lab in accordance with applicable regulations. Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities for program participants. Creates a positive environment in CYS Technology Lab that includes appropriate materials and supplies to supplement computer software programs and Internet access. Provides supervision, oversight, and accountability for program participants. Ensures computer, peripherals, and software are maintained in good condition and working order. Troubleshoots CYS hardware, printers, scanners, servers and software. Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. Promotes and role models safety, fitness, health and nutrition practices. Trains children/youth in use of equipment and software programs. Ensures assigned area achieves and maintains standards for DoD/Army certification and national accreditation or Army equivalent. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position. Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations. A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable). Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required. Failure to achieve desired training with demonstrated competence may result in separation. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check. Position requires working with computers, peripherals, software and common hand and electrical tools. May be required to work irregular hours and weekends. Qualifications

1. Be able to communicate in English (verbal and written)

2. Be 18 years of age at time of employment.

3. Possess and maintain ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.

4. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.

5. Possess knowledge and demonstrated skill in Microsoft Windows and Applications using the Internet (email, searching, web page design) and network computing.

6. Possess a professional certificate or higher related to computer science/information

technology, or 24 months of experience working in the related field.

This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.

If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay.

When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
